Rip DVD and Blu-ray discs to various video formats

Nowadays, most people like to watch movies on various types of devices, including smartphones and tablets. Many times using a disc reader is not an option, that is why, an application like DVDFab, which can help you rip DVD and Blu-ray discs always comes in handy. Moreover, this program can also make copies of your discs. If this is the first time you use a tool of this type, you should not worry because this one is very easy to use.

Fortunately, DVDFab supports various types of sources, such as discs, ISO images (in various formats) and even folders. It is a good thing that it can avoid and remove region restrictions as well. When ripping a disc, you can pick any of the multiple presets, which are meant to save you the effort of deciding which one is compatible with the target device. In addition, the program allows you to perform some basic editing operations, such as trimming and cutting the clip, cropping the frame and adding watermarks. One thing that I find very convenient is the possibility of embedding subtitles, which is quite useful when the target device does not support external subtitle files. The quality of the converted video was excellent; though, regrettably the process did not work as fast as I would have desired.

As to copying discs, the application has various modes. In this respect, you can copy the full disc or just the main movie. Besides, the tool allows splitting, merging and cloning the contents. Finally, it is nice that it supports both burning a copy and creating an ISO file.

All in all, I would not have any complaints about this tool if it had not been for that it continuously crashed, probably because it failed to use a virtual disc drive as the source. Finally, you should know that there are less expensive tools and even some free ones; yet, the results may be not as good.
